Bill Camp and Bruce Greenwood are set to star in "Hyde," an upcoming thriller from "Rumble Through the Dark" filmmakers Graham and Parker Phillips.
The script centers on Grimes (Camp), a detective who "descends into the rotting heart of a decaying metropolis" to hunt a serial killer. Greenwood plays the therapist that Grimes is mandated to see, which helps him realize the person he's chasing may be closer than he imagined. Principal photography is set to begin in May in Bucharest, Romania.
Camp most recently starred in Kelly Reichardt's "The Mastermind" alongside Josh O'Connor, the dark comedy limited series "Sirens" on Netflix and played JP Morgan in the third season of HBO's "The Gilded Age." Up next, Camp will star alongside Glen Powell, Ed Harris and Margaret Qualley in the revenge thriller "How to Make a Killing." Camp also recently wrapped production alongside Will Ferrell and Zac Efron on the comedy film "Judgement Day," as well as on the Apple TV and A+E Studios as-yet-untitled series based on Lars Kepler's bestselling crime novels opposite Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham. He is a Tony and Emmy nominee whose credits include "The Looming Tower," "The Night Of" and "Presumed Innocent."
Greenwood's film work includes "The Sweet Hereafter," "Thirteen Days," "The Post," "I, Robot" and "Flight." On television, Greenwood has delivered memorable performances in "Mad Men," "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson" and "The Fall of the House of Usher." He will next star in the upcoming Netflix series "Trinity."
The Phillips brothers said, "We couldn't be more inspired to have Bill and Bruce on board. They are world-class actors and true collaborators who immediately understood what this film wanted to be. From the moment they joined the project, they elevated the material — challenging us, pushing the work forward and reaffirming that film is a joyfully collaborative medium, a fact that can be occasionally muddied when working with your brother."
Producing the feature film are Graham and Parker Phillips for Phillips Pictures, Jason Tamasco and Zak Kristofek for Traction and Cassian Elwes. Keith Danko will serve as executive producer.
On behalf of Traction, Tamasco and Kristofek said: "We fell in love with this script immediately. It's haunting, meticulous and deeply unsettling in the best way. Graham and Parker have such a clear, fearless vision for the material, and it's been incredibly exciting to watch it take shape. Bringing Bill Camp and Bruce Greenwood together in this world is something we are especially thrilled about. They're two extraordinary actors and seeing them collide on screen is going to be something special."
Production legal is provided by Eugene Pikulin at Bruns Brennan Berry Pikulin & Jacobs PC.
Graham and Parker Phillips are repped by Gersh and Zero Gravity. Camp is repped by UTA and Franklin, Weinrab, Rudell and Vassallo. Greenwood is repped by Gersh and Binder & Associates. Tamasco and Kristofek are repped by CAA and Eugene Pikulin at Bruns Brennan Berry Pikulin & Jacobs PC.
