The Vancouver Canucks have acquired David Pope from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Alex Biega, the club announced Sunday.

Biega, 31, has been with the Canucks since 2014-15, appearing in 179 games for Vancouver. He's posted 36 career points in that span, 16 of which came last season.

Pope, 25, split the 2018-19 campaign between the AHL and ECHL, after spending four seasons with the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The left winger's final season in college saw him amass 20 goals and 41 points in 35 games.
