MAPLE LEAFS (20-25-9) AT BLACKHAWKS (36-18-5)

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET; NHLN, CSN-CH, TSN4

Season series: The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 in the first game at Air Canada Centre on Jan. 15, their 10th victory in a franchise-record 12-game win streak. Patrick Kane had the first regular-season hat trick of his NHL career, scoring two goals in the second period and scoring into an empty net at 17:48 of the third.

Maple Leafs team scope: Toronto did not practice Sunday after a 5-2 win at the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday ended a three-game losing streak. Reimer started against the Canucks after Jonathan Bernier started in a 5-2 loss at the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Rookie forward Brendan Leipsic made his NHL debut against Vancouver and scored his first career NHL goal. Leipsic and forward Jeremy Morin were recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League on Saturday because of Toronto's injury situation and each could play. "The one thing about having your farm team right in town is you get to see them play," coach Mike Babcock told the Maple Leafs' website. "[Leipsic's] a greasy little guy. He's got good skill level [and] a tenacity about him. It was good for him to score the goal." Morin has yet to play for the Maple Leafs since being acquired in a trade from Chicago on Jan. 3.

Blackhawks team scope: Forward Marian Hossa was placed on injured reserve Sunday after sustaining a lower-body injury in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. Hossa was injured battling for a puck with Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm at 14:48 of the second period and did not return. "We don't think it's serious, but he could miss some time," coach Joel Quenneville said after the game Saturday. Hossa has 10 goals and 18 assists in 54 games this season and is four goals shy of 500 in his NHL career. "It's something you don't want to see ever happen to anyone," forward Andrew Shaw said. "He's a great player and he's one of those guys that you can't replace." Chicago recalled center Vincent Hinostroza from Rockford of the American Hockey League on Saturday. The Blackhawks didn't practice Sunday.
