JETS (25-28-4) at PANTHERS (33-18-7)
TV: 7 p.m. ET; SN, FS-F, NHL.TV
Season series: The Winnipeg Jets and Florida Panthers split two games last season. Forward Mathieu Perreault scored four goals in an 8-2 win at Winnipeg on Jan. 13, 2015. Florida won 4-2 at home on March 12, 2015. Jonathan Huberdeau had three assists in two games for Florida.
Jets team scope: Winnipeg did not practice Friday, so there was no update on center Bryan Little. He left in the second period of a 6-5 shootout loss at the Tampa Bay Lightning after he was hit at mid-ice by defenseman Anton Stralman. After the game, coach Paul Maurice said Little was having X-rays on his neck but did not provide any other information. It has not been confirmed if goaltender Ondrej Pavelec will make his fourth consecutive start. Winnipeg ends a four-game road trip before a home game against the Dallas Stars next Tuesday.
Panthers team scope: Forward Jaromir Jagr's next goal will tie Brett Hull for third in NHL history at 741. Florida recalled defenseman Michael Matheson and forward Kyle Rau from Portland of the American Hockey League on Friday, and each would be making his NHL debut if he plays. Rau, a third-round pick (No. 91) in the 2011 NHL Draft, has 17 goals in 48 games as an AHL rookie. Matheson, a first-round pick (No. 23) in the 2012 NHL Draft, has five goals and nine assists in 43 games in his first AHL season. Florida returned defenseman Brent Regner and forward John McFarland to Portland. Goaltender Roberto Luongo will start, coach Gerard Gallant told the Sun Sentinel. Defenseman Erik Gudbranson (upper body) and forward Alexander Barkov (upper body) won't play. Florida does not play again until Feb. 25 when the Arizona Coyotes visit BB&T Center.
