Season series: Ondrej Palat scored 36 seconds into overtime to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 5-4 victory against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Oct. 23. Defenseman Victor Hedman had three assists, and goaltender Ben Bishop made 33 saves for Tampa Bay.
Jets team scope: Coach Paul Maurice put his players through a conditioning skate after a 2-1 loss at the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien, who was hit by a skate at Carolina, did not practice. Forward Adam Lowry (undisclosed) also did not skate. Each player is expected to dress Thursday. The Jets, last in the Central Division, finish their four-game road trip Saturday against the Florida Panthers.
