DUCKS (29-19-8) at CANUCKS (22-22-12)

TV: 7 p.m. ET, FS-SO, Prime, SNP, NHL.TV

Season Series: The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Anaheim Ducks twice with 2-1 shootout wins on Oct. 12 in Anaheim and Jan. 1 in Vancouver. But the Ducks shutout the Canucks 4-0 at home on Nov. 30. Ryan Getzlaf has a goal and an assist for Anaheim. Alex Burrows scored both shootout winners, while fourth-line center Adam Cracknell and defenseman Chris Tanev each have scored for the Canucks.

Ducks team scope: Goalie John Gibson (upper body) missed the game Monday against the Edmonton Oilers but appears healthy again after the Ducks reassigned goalie Anton Khudobin to San Diego of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. Goalie Frederik Andersen has gone 9-0-1 in his past 10 decisions after a 5-8-5 start to the season. Defenseman Korbinian Holzer also was sent to the Gulls on a conditioning assignment. Forward Chris Stewart (jaw) and defenseman Clayton Stoner (hip) remain out. The Ducks are 10-1-1 in their past 12 games and 4-1-1 on this seven-game road trip that ends here. Center Andrew Cogliano will tie Canucks captain Henrik Sedin for the sixth longest consecutive games played streak in NHL history at 679. Sedin set his mark between March 6, 2004 and Nov. 22, 2014. Cogliano's streak began when he made his NHL debut on Oct. 4, 2007. The NHL record for consecutive games played is 964, set by forward Doug Jarvis between Oct. 8, 1975 and Oct. 10, 1987 with the Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals and Hartford Whalers.

Canucks team scope: Defenseman Alexander Edler (fractured fibula) and center Brandon Sutter (fractured jaw) remain out. Forwards Jared McCann and Alex Friesen, as well as defenseman Yannick Weber, appeared to be the extras in practice on Wednesday. Vancouver players are standing behind coach Willie Desjardins, following back-to-back losses at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday and Minnesota Wild on Monday. "Willie is coaching the same this year as he did last, when we made the playoffs," Henrik Sedin told the Canucks website. "He has all our support. He wants to win badly." The Canucks have gone 2-5-1 in their past eight games and are 9-12-5 at home this season, the second fewest home wins in the League.
