Season series: Drew Stafford and Alexander Burmistrov each had a goal and an assist in the Winnipeg Jets' 6-2 win against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Oct. 8. Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec made 29 saves.
Bruins team scope: Boston begins a six-game road trip after a 9-2 home loss against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. Coach Claude Julien altered his forward lines Wednesday, according to the Bruins website. Matt Beleskey moved to the left wing of a line with center David Krejci and David Pastrnak. Loui Eriksson skated with Ryan Spooner and Jimmy Hayes. "It wasn't just offense, but the different looks," Julien said of the alterations. "I think if you can try something different that will maybe help spark things for different people, then you make those moves." Julien has not confirmed whether Tuukka Rask, who was pulled in the loss Tuesday after allowing five goals, will start. Otherwise, backup goalie Jonas Gustavsson would start.
Jets team scope: Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is expected to start for Winnipeg, though coach Paul Maurice has not confirmed. Hellebuyck's 13 wins tie him with Mike Condon of the Montreal Canadiens among rookie goaltenders. The Jets did not practice Wednesday after completing a 2-0-0 Central Division road trip. "The on-ice product the last two games, for me, is a function of preparation," Maurice told the Jets website. "Every team has to find its soul, and how it gets itself ready. We've been right there the last two games, as good as we've been all year, where you're wired into the game and ready to go. That's a big deal. We're back skating, we're competing on pucks. We're battling and when it all goes bad, we're getting a block or a save." Pavelec (knee) made the road trip, but a return date has not been set; he has been out since Nov. 21.
