Season series: The Boston Bruins won the second game, 5-0 on Friday with 33 saves from Tuukka Rask. The Ottawa Senators won 4-2 on Nov. 15 with four consecutive goals, ending Boston's 11-game winning streak in Ottawa.

The Bruins scored twice in the final 2:34 to finish the game Friday.

"We really wanted to set the tempo for tomorrow," forward Brad Marchand told NESN. "Especially with having three days off and coming back, it was tough, but we're very happy with our game and we have to be ready for tomorrow."

Big story: Boston recalled goaltender Niklas Svedberg from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League on Friday and he could make his NHL debut. The 2012-12 AHL Goalie of the Year is 11-5-3 with a 2.91 goals-against average and .907 save percentage this season.

"We're going to have a look at him in the next little while here," Bruins coach Claude Julien told the team website Friday. "Not tonight, but maybe tomorrow or the game after. I think he's earned that. We told him that after having such a good [training] camp, that we'd bring him up at some point and give him some games, so that's what we're doing right now."

Team Scope:

Bruins: Reilly Smith scored twice Friday, the seventh straight game a Boston player had at least two goals, tying a franchise record set in 1929. Smith has seven points in his past three games playing with Patrice Bergeron and Marchand.

"[Reilly is] playing with two pretty good players right now," Julien told NESN. "They make things happen out there. I like that line so far, it's been pretty good since they've been put together. Reilly just keeps getting better and better as the season goes on. So that's a good sign for him, it's a good sign for us."

Senators: Ottawa again failed to win two straight, the eighth time in a row the Senators have fallen short of a two-game win streak.

"One step forward one step back all year," captain Jason Spezza said. "We have to start playing better hockey or else they're not going to let us play like this very much longer."

Craig Anderson likely will be back in net after Robin Lehner played Friday. Anderson is coming off a 27-save shutout of the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.

"[The Bruins will] do the same thing to us tomorrow if we play the same way," Spezza said. "We better bring a better effort, they're an elite team."

Who's hot: Rask has won four in a row (two shutouts, three goals allowed) and six of seven. Marchand has five points in four games. Forward Jarome Iginla has three goals in two games. Forward David Krejci has 15 points in 13 games. … Senators defenseman Marc Methot had four points in a three-game streak. Defenseman Erik Karlsson has eight points in his past seven games.

Injury report: Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg (head) and forward Carl Soderberg (lower body) did not travel to Ottawa after each sustained an injury Friday. Forward Daniel Paille (concussion) played after missing seven games. Forwards Chris Kelly (leg) and Loui Eriksson (concussion) and defenseman Dougie Hamilton (lower body) are out. … Senators defenseman Chris Phillips (undisclosed) did not skate Saturday morning and is a game-time decision, according to the Ottawa Sun.
