Montreal forward Michael Ryder will not travel with the team to New Jersey when the Canadiens face the Devils Saturday night.
Ryder suffered a lower-body injury in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Ottawa Senators. He missed part of the second period and played sparingly in the third.
The Canadiens have called up forward Michael Blunden in his place.
Ryder was acquired in a trade with the Stars that saw veteran forward Erik Cole headed to Dallas on Feb 26.
Ryder has eight goals and 15 assists through 27 games this season.
