MONTREAL -- Defensive end John Bowman has signed a new three-year contract with the Montreal Alouettes.
The six-foot-three, 250-pound Bowman shared the team lead in sacks with linebacker Shea Emry with seven to give him 60 in his career, second best all time among Alouettes. The 30-year-old had a career high 37 defensive tackles.
"John is and has been one of our hardest working players," general manager Jim Popp said Friday in a statement. "He is as tough as they come and plays the game with passion.
"We look forward to his growing leadership with the team for the future."
Bowman joined the Alouettes in 2006. He has won two Grey Cups and is a three-time East all-star.
