Tri-City Americans forward Brendan Shinnimin is battling Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for the scoring lead in the WHL, but at the moment he's been suspended indefinitely by the league for a hit from behind Wednesday on Saskatoon's Josh Nicholls.
A WHL spokesman says Nicholls suffered a concussion, a bruised knee and sore back and is listed as week-to-week.
The league's general managers will be meeting next Tuesday and Wednesday in Vancouver, at which point Shinnimin's full suspension will be discussed and announced.
