Can your car player handle .DTS files on a CD-R? If so, use EAC3to (via EAC3toGUI):
Select VOB as input file, change output filetype to 'dts', then 'Convert'. [For AC3 files, use default settings.]
If you can't play .DTS files, have a look at

for other options.
Good luck, Daniel

I acquired the Elliot Scheiner Layla surround sound disk only to find it was a video DVD, although audio only, and is not supported by the DVD player in my car. Is there a way to convert this video DVD format to a DVD-audio? I cannot seem to find anything that converts .vob to .aob files.--Thanks
