PANEVEZYS, Lithuania — Jamie Weisner had 14 points and seven rebounds as Canada dropped an 88-54 decision to the United States on Tuesday at the world under-19 women's basketball championship.
Shay Colley added 11 points and Sam Cooper had 10 points for Canada (2-3), which fell behind 47-31 at halftime.
Alexis Jones had a game-high 17 points for the U.S. (5-0).
"I thought we competed really hard," said Canadian team coach Scott Edwards. "Unfortunately, turnovers and offensive rebounds did us in."
Canada faces Lithuania (1-4) on Wednesday.
