Toronto FC is in need of a win to continue its hopes of a fourth straight Canadian Championship when they host the Montreal Impact tonight at BMO Field.

The two sides failed to score in their first matchup in Montreal, although the Impact carried the play and had the better chances.

Montreal have also been the better squad in MLS play. Despite competing in their inaugural season, they sit fifth in the Eastern Conference.

Comparatively, Toronto FC has struggled mightily in league play, failing to register a point in eight games. They sit in last place in the Eastern Conference.

Toronto FC's only success this season has come in tournament play, having opened the year with an aggregate victory over LA Galaxy in the CONCACAF Champions League quarter-final, before losing in the semis to the Mexican side, Santos Laguna.

In last season's Canadian Championship Toronto FC defeated FC Edmonton and Vancouver Whitecaps on their way to a third consecutive title.

The Impact's Canadian Championship bid ended in a semi-final, extra-time loss in Vancouver. In 2008 they became the first winners of the Canadian Championship.

The winner of tonight's match will play either FC Edmonton or the Vancouver Whitecaps who are meeting in the second leg of the other semi-final tonight in Vancouver.
