{allcanada} SEA DOGS' CORBEIL WINS WEEKLY CHL GOALTENDER AWARD

TORONTO -- Mathieu Corbeil of the Saint John Sea Dogs has been named the Canadian Hockey League's goaltender of the week.

Corbeil helped the Sea Dogs open the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League finals with two straight wins against the Rimouski Oceanic.

Corbeil made 40 saves in Game 1's double overtime win, then added another 14 saves in Game 2.

The 20-year-old Montreal native, who is a Columbus Blue Jackets prospect, is 14-0-1 in the playoffs with a goals-against average of 2.20 and a .916 save percentage.

Mac Carruth of the Portland Winterhawks and Michael Houser of the London Knights were also considered for the award.

Portland forward Sven Bartschi meanwhile was named the CHL player of the week after scoring four goals and one assist in three playoff games.

Andrew Agozzino of the Niagara IceDogs and Saint John's Tomas Jurco were also nominated.
