SARNIA, Ont. -- Jacques Beaulieu has been hired head coach of the Sarnia Sting.
Beaulieu was head coach and general manager of the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior League, holding both jobs from 2006 to 2009.
He was responsible for drafting or trading 12 players on the current Sea Dogs roster, the No. 1-ranked team in the CHL for most of this past season.
He was named the QMJHL's manager of the year in 2007-08.
Beaulieu was the associate coach of the London Knights the past two seasons, and also from 2002 to 2006, helping guide the Knights to a Memorial Cup championship in 2005.
Beaulieu's son Nathan is a defenceman for the Sea Dogs, and rated highly for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.
