The Soo Greyhounds are solidifying their net after acquiring goaltender Carter George from the Owen Sound Attack on Wednesday.

Owen Sound is receiving seven draft picks in exchange for the star netminder.

George, 19, has been one of the Ontario Hockey League's best goaltenders over his four-season career, going 57-55-17 with a 3.22 goals-against average and.908 save percentage.

The 6-foot-2 goalie's best season came during the 2023-24 campaign where he went 23-21-9 with a 3.30 GAA and .907 save percentage, leading him to be drafted 57th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2024 NHL Draft.

He helped lead Owen Sound to two playoff appearances in 2024 and 2025.

The Thunder Bay, Ont. native represented Canada at the 2025 and 2026 World Juniors, taking home a bronze medal on Monday. He led the 2025 tournament with a 1.76 GAA and .936 save percentage.

He's going to a Greyhounds team that sits fifth in the Western Conference with a 21-14-2 record, three points behind the London Knights.

Kitchener adding in arms race

The Kitchener Rangers are adding their name to the OHL arms race after they acquired forward Sam O'Reilly and defenceman Jared Woolley from the defending Memorial Cup champion Knights on Wednesday.

In return, the Knights are acquiring the rights to American winger Kane Barch, defenceman Jacob Xu, and 11 draft picks.

O'Reilly, 19, was drafted 32nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2024 NHL Draft but was traded last off-season to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for 2025 NCAA Hobey Baker Award winner Isaac Howard.

The 6-foot-1 centre helped the Knights to back-to-back J. Ross Robertson Cups with London and had two goals and five points in five games in last year's Memorial Cup victory.

O'Reilly spent his entire career in London, recording 60 goals and 155 points in 163 OHL games. He was named the 54th captain in Knights history at the beginning of the season.

He has 12 goals and 28 points in 28 games this season before joining Team Canada at the 2026 World Juniors in Minnesota.

The Toronto native registered four goals and eight points in seven games for Canada in a bronze-medal finish.

Woolley, 19, was drafted 164th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2024 and has 10 goals and 25 points in 37 games with the Knights this season.

The 6-foot-5 left-shot defenceman played three seasons in London, recording 22 goals and 58 points in 142 career games.

O'Reilly and Woolley are joining a Rangers team that leads the Midwest Division with a 23-11-4 record and are six points behind the Windsor Spitfires and Flint Firebirds for top spot in the Western Conference.

London is re-tooling after an impressive three-year run that saw them make three straight OHL Championship Series and appear in two Memorial Cups.

In Barch, they acquire the rights to a 16-year-old winger who has five goals and 12 points in 32 games with the Under-17 United States National Team. He also has a goal and three points in 19 games with the U.S. National Team Development Program of the USHL.

Xu, 17, was drafted 157th overall by Kitchener in 2024 and has a goal and seven points in 31 games this season.

The 6-foot-2 left-shot defenceman is also eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft.
