Fabian Zetterlund will make his Senators debut against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET; TVAS, Prime, FDSNDET).
Zetterlund, who was acquired in a trade with the San Jose Sharks shortly before the 3 p.m. ET Trade Deadline on Friday, will play right wing on the fourth line alongside Adam Gaudette and Matthew Highmore.
"I've been waiting for this since the trade came up. It's going to be fun today," Zetterlund said after the morning skate. "We just played Ottawa (March 1) and [the arena] was rocking and it's going to be rocking again tonight."
The 25-year-old, who has 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists) in 64 games this season, took half of the reps on the second power-play unit during the morning skate. Zetterlund said he expects to play "a couple" shifts on the man-advantage Monday, and coach Travis Green said Zetterlund will be a mainstay on the power play long-term.
"He goes to the net hard," Green said. "He's an inside player; [that's] what I would call him. He likes to shoot the puck; he's got a good shot. … He's got a nose for the net."
