Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews will miss his fourth straight game due to an upper-body injury on Thursday when the team hosts the New Jersey Devils.
Nikita Soshnikov will draw into the lineup for the game and make his season debut.
Matthews injury first came to light on Nov. 6 when he skipped the team's morning skate for their game against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 20-year-old ended up playing that night but has been sidelined ever since, missing a game against the Minnesota Wild (Nov. 8) and back-to-back games against the Boston Bruins (Nov. 10-11).
Matthews was cleared to return to practice on Wednesday.
Despite missing the last three games, he remains the Leafs leading scorer with 10 goals and nine assists through 16 games.
The Leafs have gone a perfect 3-0 while Matthews has been out of the lineup.
