Winnipeg Jets defenseman Toby Enstrom had surgery Thursday because of a lower-body injury and will miss 2-3 weeks.
Enstrom sustained the injury in the first period of a 4-1 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
"We're hopeful for a 2-3 week return," coach Paul Maurice said during the morning skate Thursday prior the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins (7 p.m. ET; ROOT, TSN3, NHL.TV). "It just got to the point where we thought the rehab on it would be at least that long and at the end, we still wouldn't know if we had a healthy player. So, that took care of it this morning."
Enstrom, 32, has 14 points (one goal, 13 assists) in 55 games this season.
