LIGHTNING (24-24-7) at JETS (25-28-4)
7 p.m. ET; SN, SUN, NHL.TV
Lightning team scope
The Tampa Bay Lightning enter Saturday five points out of the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference following a 2-1 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild on Friday. The Lightning are 5-9-3 in their past 17 games and 2-6-4 in their past 12 on the road. "We got to keep munching points," coach Jon Cooper said Friday. Forward Tyler Johnson did not play against the Wild because of a lower-body injury sustained in a 5-0 win against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. Johnson participated in the morning skate Friday but did not skate in line rushes. The Lightning did not hold a morning skate and his status is unknown, although Cooper called it a longshot. Ben Bishop could get the start after making 28 saves for his 19th career shutout Tuesday. Backup Andrei Vasilevskiy made 37 saves Friday in the loss.
Jets team scope
The Winnipeg Jets will try to avoid losing their fourth straight game and fifth in a row at home in the second of a back-to-back. The Jets lost 5-2 to the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday and are six points out of the second wild card into the playoffs from the Western Conference. "We're desperate for points right now and we need to get on a roll," forward Bryan Little said Friday. The Jets are 4-3-2 in the second half of back-to-backs this season. Connor Hellebuyck is expected to make his second straight start after Ondrej Pavelec was injured in a 4-2 loss to the Wild on Tuesday. Hellebuyck made 31 saves against Chicago and felt good about his game. "Like I've been saying, I'm going to go out and play my game," he said. "I'm not going to change. I'm going to get back to what makes me me. Not only was I tracking (the puck), but reading the play pretty well. Not falling behind it, but reading the play and getting ahead of it." The Jets have allowed at least three goals in each of their past 14 games.
