The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released defensive end Eric Norwood, according to TSN's Matthew Scianitti.
Norwood was one of the league's top pass rushers when healthy, but missed several games to injury during his three years with the Tiger-Cats.
The 27-year-old suffered a season-ending knee injury and missed the Ticats' playoff run last year. Norwood also missed time to injury at the start of last season.
Through three seasons with the Ticats Norwood compiled 123 tackles and 24 sacks, including a career-high 13 sacks in 2014.
Hamilton signed veteran DE John Chick earlier this off-season and should have Adrian Tracy, Everett Ellefsen, and Troy Davis compete for the other starting spot in the wake of Norwood's release.
