CANUCKS (9-8-7) at DUCKS (8-11-5)

TV: SNP, FS-W

Season series: The Anaheim Ducks won three of five games against the Vancouver Canucks in 2014-15 that saw three games go beyond regulation and two requiring shootouts. Each team won a game in a shootout and Anaheim won one in overtime. Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen had all three wins for Anaheim, and Eddie Lack had both Vancouver wins. Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf led all scorers with four points (one goal, three assists). Sami Vatanen had three points (one goal, two assists) and Matt Beleskey had two goals for Anaheim. Jannik Hansen led Vancouver with three points (one goal, two assists) and Bo Horvat had two goals.

Canucks team scope: This is the third game of the four-game trip for Vancouver, which concludes Tuesday at the Los Angeles Kings. Rookie defenseman Ben Hutton, who has missed the past four games because of a lower-body injury, practiced Sunday in Anaheim but won't play Monday. "I don't know if he'll play on this trip, but he should be ready soon after," Vancouver coach Willie Desjardins said of Hutton. The Canucks have given up at least one power-play goal in each of the past five games, allowing five goals in 20 times shorthanded in that span, including two in five chances in a 3-2 shootout loss against the Dallas Stars on Friday. "I don't think there's anything really wrong with it, but it just has to get a little sharper," Desjardins said of the penalty kill.

Ducks team scope: Anaheim recalled forward Nate Thompson from his conditioning stint with San Diego of the American Hockey League, though Thompson, who had shoulder surgery during the offseason, remains on injured reserve. "I'm sure that by the end of the week, he'll be ready," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said of Thompson. Anaheim recalled defenseman Shea Theodore from San Diego. Theodore has two goals, nine assists and a plus-1 rating in 19 AHL games. Andersen, who has been out because of the flu, practiced Sunday, but Boudreau said it will likely take him 3-4 days "to get up to par." Boudreau was asked if the game against Vancouver is a must-win. The Ducks are 3-4-3 in their past 10 games. "I wouldn't say it's a 'must-win,' but it's a proverbial 4-pointer," he said. "It's an important game for us."
