With Kevin Glenn out, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are set to start rookie Brett Smith at quarterback against the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday night.

CTV's Lee Jones confirmed the news to TSN on Wednesday.

Smith came in to Saskatchewan's 31-21 loss to the Tiger-Cats last week, completing two-of-four passes for 12 yards after Glenn exited the game due to injury.

The 23-year-old Wyoming graduate signed with the Riders in February.

He threw for 76 touchdowns to 28 interceptions during his collegiate career.

The Riders are still searching for their first win of the season and dropped each of their first four games by four points or less.
