ST-EUSTACHE, Que. – D.J. Kennington led the way for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 contingent Saturday afternoon in practice at Autodrome St-Eustache.
Kennington, from St. Thomas, Ontario, posted a fast lap of 17.284 seconds (83.314 mph) around the .4-mile oval in the second 30-minute session of the day. He finished the first practice second-fastest at 17.533 (82.131 mph).
Of note, Kennington's No. 17 Castrol Edge/Mahindra Tractors Dodge is powered for the first time by a spec engine.
Two-time defending St-Eustache winner Scott Steckly led first practice at 17.487 (82.347) and finished second to Kennington in the final session at 17.320 (83.141).
St-Eustache native Kevin Lacroix finished third in the first practice at 17.540 (82.098) while Jason Hathaway was third-fastest in the final session at 17.390 (82.806).
Qualifying for tonight's Lucas Oil National 250 presented by Lacroix Tuning is slated for 4:15 p.m. The 250-lap feature will go green at 8 p.m.
