You can add another Canadian quarterback hopeful to the list trying to make an impression at upcoming CFL training camps.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced Tuesday they have signed former University of Manitoba quarterback Jordan Yantz.

"Jordan is going to come in and compete for a spot on our roster at quarterback," general manager Kyle Walters said in a team release. "We feel he has shown all the tools needed to play this position at the professional level, and we look forward to watching him compete in camp."

Yantz was with the Bombers in training camp last year before returning to Manitoba for another season.

The Regina native spent the past two seasons with the Bisons, finishing 2014 with 1,619 yards and 10 touchdowns in six games. Yantz also played for Team West in the CIS East-West Bowl.

Yantz joins drafted players Brandon Bridge (Alouettes) and Andrew Buckley (Stampeders) as Canadians at the quarterback position, however it's believed Bridge is still exploring NFL options.

Yantz's signing comes one day after the Blue Bombers announced they have signed international linebacker Denicos Allen and released national defensive back Shea Pierre.
