MONTREAL -- Ottawa Senators coach Dave Cameron is changing a winning lineup.
Coming off the first win of their Eastern Conference First Round series against the Montreal Canadiens, the Senators will have a different look in Game 5 on Friday at Bell Centre (7 p.m. ET; CBC, CNBC, TVA Sports).
Alex Chiasson will return to the lineup after sitting out the past two games and Mike Hoffman will stay on the second line with Mika Zibanejad and Bobby Ryan.
Hoffman started Game 4 on the fourth line with Zack Smith and Chris Neil but was moved to the Zibanejad line early and scored the only goal of the game.
Cameron said his increased confidence in Hoffman's defensive game allows for a move like this, with Hoffman playing more minutes in more difficult situations. He said he spent some time with Hoffman in the video room Friday to show him what he did well and his mistakes from Game 4.
"He's a smart guy. He's figured it out," Cameron said. "He's a young guy and he's come a long way. But basically it's his play away from the puck. When you get into one-goal games a lot of people say, 'Well, put your scorer on and he'll score.' That's what you try to do, but also one-goal games if he's on and he's not playing well away from the puck, the other team scores."
Hoffman, the Senators' regular-season leader with 27 goals, admitted his game changes when he plays with more offensive players.
"I know that they're going to want the puck and want to make plays when the plays are there as opposed to maybe keeping it a little simpler," he said. "Obviously you adapt to your linemates. They're good players; Mika and Bobby are good players in this League. So I'm happy to get a chance to be back with them tonight."
Chiasson will replace Neil, a move Cameron hopes will add some speed to the lineup.
Chiasson said he began doubting himself while he watched from the sidelines for two games.
"I'm really excited," Chiasson said. "It's tough when you come out. It's been a while for me. You kind of reflect on a lot of things. There's a lot of thinking. You wonder what are you doing, and what's going on. I think for me today, I'm just going to go back and try to just play.
"A little adversity never hurt anyone. We'll see how I take that."

Status report: Karlsson did not participate in the morning skate but Cameron confirmed he will play.
Who's hot: Anderson has a 0.93 goals-against average and a .974 save percentage in two games in the series. He has a 1.54 GAA and a .957 save percentage against Montreal in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in his career.
