The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded centre Olli Jokinen to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a late-round pick.
Jokinen, 36, has appeared in 54 combined games with the Maple Leafs and Nashville Predators this season, scoring three goals and four assists. The Maple Leafs acquired him on Feb. 15 as part of the trade that sent Cody Franson to the Predators.
He signed a one-year, $2 million contract prior to the start of the 2014-15 season and is eligible for unrestricted free agency on July 1.
Jokinen was selected third overall at the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings.
He has appeared in 1,223 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs, Predators, Winnipeg Jets, Kings, New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes, Calgary Flames and New York Rangers, scoring 320 goals and 427 assists.
The Finnish veteran has represented his country at four Olympic Games including the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia, medaling in three with two bronze and one silver.
