Season series: The Minnesota Wild are 2-0-1 against the Winnipeg Jets, including a 3-2 win in a game at MTS Centre on Dec. 29. Wild forward Jason Pominville has six points (one goal, five assists) in the season series. Winnipeg's win came Dec. 27 at Xcel Energy Center, a 4-3 victory in overtime.

Wild team scope: Forwards Ryan Carter and Jason Zucker sustained injuries in the first period of Minnesota's 5-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday and did not return. "We should not expect them back in the lineup in the near future," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. Forward Justin Fontaine, who hasn't played since Jan. 29, will likely return to the lineup. Yeo was uncertain about a starting goaltender, but Darcy Kuemper could get the start after Devan Dubnyk made 22 saves Monday. Kuemper returned to Minnesota from a two-week conditioning stint with Iowa of the American Hockey League on Monday.

Jets team scope: Winnipeg wraps up a three-game homestand Tuesday, one that has seen the Jets gain three points. After losing their first four games out of the All-Star break (all in regulation), the Jets have gained at least a point in three consecutive games. "We're starting to recreate some of the positive things we were doing before," forward Blake Wheeler said, according to the Jets website. "It started in Vancouver [Feb. 3]. We played a really solid game and it just didn't go our way. We were a good bounce away in Chicago [last Friday] too." The Jets have settled back into their rotation in goal between Ondrej Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson. If that trend continues, Hutchinson will get the start against Minnesota. Pavelec made 25 saves in a 5-3 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday.
