Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo may have escaped serious injury Saturday night against the Los Angeles Kings, according to a report by TSN's James Duthie.
Duthie reported early indications are the ankle injury Luongo sustained is not serious. He underwent an MRI on Monday and was seen walking without a limp.
The Canucks did recall goaltender Joacim Eriksson from the American Hockey League on Monday. When Luongo was unable to dress Sunday, they had to sign 43-year-old Rob Laurie to back up Eddie Lack against the Anaheim Ducks.
Luongo, who had missed three games with a groin injury, stopped 46 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Kings. He was crashed into by forward Dustin Brown on the game-tying goal in the third period but finished out the game.
