Ottawa Senators fans can expect to have an answer from Daniel Alfredsson by the weekend about whether he is planning to play another season or retire.
Senators general manager Bryan Murray spoke on Tuesday at the team's pre-draft availability and said that his captain will likely make the team aware of his decision by Friday.
Alfredsson, 40, has played 1,178 career games for Ottawa, scoring 426 goals and recording 682 assists for 1,108 points.
This past season, he recorded 10 goals and 16 assists in 47 regular season games and added another four goals and six assists in 10 playoff games.
