Goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, the Calgary Flames announced Wednesday.

Kiprusoff left Calgary's game Tuesday night after making 19 saves on 20 shots in a 4-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings. Backup goaltender Leland Irving replaced Kiprusoff for the third period and stopped all six shots he faced.

The Flames signed Abbotsford Heat goaltender Danny Taylor to a one-year, two-way contract and will fill Kiprusoff's spot. The 26-year-old Taylor is 13-9-1 and is second in the AHL in goals-against average (1.77) and save percentage (.930). The leader in both categories is Abbotsford's Barry Brust, who is 9-6-2 with a 1.69 GAA and .940 save percentage.
