The Edmonton Eskimos re-signed Canadian running back Calvin McCarty on Friday to a one-year deal with an option for a second year.
McCarty was slated to become a free agent in February.
Last season, McCarty carried the ball 52 times for 209 yards and caught 22 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown.
Over his five seasons in Edmonton, the Muskogee, Oklahoma native has over 2,500 combined yards in rushing and receiving with 19 touchdowns.
McCarty played his high school football in Burnaby, B.C.
