Cory MacIntosh and Taylor MacDougall each had a goal and an assist and Alexandre Veronneau made 25 saves Tuesday as the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles beat the Halifax Mooseheads 4-2 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
William Cochrane and Pier-Antoine Dion had the other goals for Cape Breton (11-25-3), which scored four times in the first period.
Darcy Ashley, with a goal and an assist, and Trey Lewis replied for Halifax. Mathieu Corbeil-Theriault made 20 saves in defeat.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Drummondville 4, Quebec 3(OT); Shawinigan 4, Montreal 3 (SO); Lewiston 7, Victoriaville 1; and Gatineau 6, Rimouski 5 (OT).
Acadie-Bathurst at Moncton and Saint John at P.E.I. were postponed due to weather.
At Sydney, N.S., Dion opened the scoring at 4:15 of the first for the Screaming Eagles.
MacDougall doubled the Cape Breton lead at 15:47, Cochrane made it 3-0 just 26 seconds later and MacIntosh rounded out the period with a goal of his own at 19:19.
Lewis got Halifax (13-24-1) on the board at 1:23 of the second and Ashley made it 4-2 with under seven minutes to go in the period, but the Mooseheads would get no closer.
Cape Breton finished 0-for-2 on the power play, while Halifax wound up 0-for-3.
Voltigeurs 4, Quebec 3, OT
At Drummondville, Que., Andrew Randazzo scored at 1:50 of overtime as the Voltigeurs downed the Quebec Remparts.
Vincent Barnard scored twice in regulation for Drummondville (25-9-5), while Alexandre Comtois replied with two of his own for Quebec (29-7-3).

Cataractes 4, Juniors 3, SO
At Shawinigan, Que., Maximilien Le Sieur, Dave Labrecque and Benjamin Casavant scored in the shootout as the Cataractes defeated Montreal.
Gabriel Girard made 37 saves in regulation and overtime for Shawinigan (21-12-3).
Jean-Francois Berube stopped 29 shots for Montreal (27-5-6).

At Victoriaville, Que., Francis Beauvillier scored twice as the Maineiacs thumped the Tigres.
Pierre-Olivier Morin added a goal and an assist for Lewiston (25-13-2).
Phillip Danault scored the only goal for Victoriaville (19-17-3).

At Gatineau, Que., Nicolas Deslauriers scored his second of the night in overtime as the Olympiques got past Rimouski.
Philippe Halley tied the game in the third for Gatineau (24-11-4).
Ryan Kavanagh had a goal and an assist for Rimouski (20-18-2).
