{allcanada} OHL: TOFFOLI NETS FIVE GOALS AS 67'S DOMINATE FRONTENACS

GameStop, Inc.

Tyler Toffoli did a lot to clarify the Ontario Hockey League's scoring race on Wednesday night.

Toffoli started his evening with a natural hat trick and then added two more goals as the Ottawa 67's rocked the Kingston Frontenacs 9-0 in OHL action.

Before Wednesday's round of games Toffoli and Josh Shalla of the Saginaw Spirit were tied for the OHL's goal-scoring lead at 29 each.

Shalla's single goal in Saginaw's 4-2 win over the Erie Otters briefly gave him the lead in the race, but the five-goal outburst catapulted Toffoli to the top.

The 18-year-old winger now has 34 goals in 36 games. Last season, Toffoli scored 37 times in 65 games.

Petr Mrazek's 34-save performance was perfect for the 67's. It was his first shutout of the season.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Saginaw 4 Erie 2; Peterborough 6 Belleville 1; London 3 Guelph 2; Owen Sound 8 Barrie 5; Sarnia 4 Plymouth 2; Oshawa 4 Niagara 2; Kitchener 3 Windsor 1 and Sault Ste. Marie 6 Sudbury 3.

At Ottawa, Thomas Nesbitt had a pair of goals for the 67's (25-9-2), while defencemen Marc Zanetti and Ryan Shipley chipped in as well.
