Jonathan Bonneau brought some relief to the beleaguered Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Wednesday night.
Bonneau scored the winner with 1:31 left in regulation as Rouyn-Noranda rallied past the Val-d'Or Foreurs 5-4 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
The 20-year-old winger added an assist as the Huskies snapped a seven-game losing streak.
Unfortunately for Rouyn-Noranda, it still possesses the worst record in the QMJHL, with 15 points in 39 games.
Midway through the game the Foreurs had built a 4-2 lead. But Gabriel O'Connor and Jason Houde both scored on the power play to tie the game and set the stage for Bonneau's heroics.
Val-d'Or is also struggling, having lost seven games in a row.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL, Baie-Comeau beat Chicoutimi 3-2 in a shootout.
At Rouyn-Noranda, Maxim Tremblay-Lanthier and Jerome Raymond also scored for the Huskies (6-30-3).
Jonathan Hazen, Jean-Francois Leblanc, Anthony Taylor and Marc-Alain Begin provided the offence for the Foreurs (15-20-3).
