{allcanada} ANDREOFF NETS THREE GOALS AND GENERALS GET PAST PETES

Andy Andreoff had five points to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 6-4 win over the Peterborough Petes in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Andreoff had a hat trick and added a pair of assists as the Generals (20-9-6) overcame three Peterborough power-play goals for the win. Lucas Lessio added two goals and an assist.

Lessio's second marker, on a 5-on-3 power play at 4:06 of the third period, broke a 4-4 tie and held up as the winner.

Matt Puempel scored twice on the power play for Peterborough (11-22-2), including one on a 5-on-3 advantage. Austin Watson and Justin Larson added singles and Lino Martschini had three assists for the Petes, who led 2-0 after having outshot Oshawa 21-8 in the first period.

Peter DiSalvo was strong in goal to keep the game from getting away from the Generals and they took control in the second period, outscoring the Petes 4-2 to even things up. DiSalvo finished with 40 saves.

Peterborough's scored three goals on nine power-play opportunities, while the Generals were 1-for-4 on the power play.

The Petes' Alan Quine had an assist to stretch his point streak to 13 games.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Guelph 5 Mississauga 2; Sault Ste. Marie 7 Sudbury 1 and Kitchener 2 Plymouth 1.

Storm 5 Majors 2

At Mississauga, Ont., Taylor Beck scored two goals, including an empty-netter, and added a pair of assists to lead Guelph past the Majors.

Peter Holland scored a power-play goal and recorded an assist for the Storm (16-15-5), while Cody McNaughton also tallied on a Guelph man advantage. Sam Lofquist chipped in as well.

Devante Smith-Pelly scored for Mississauga (28-5-1), while Mika Partanen tallied on the Majors' only power play.

Greyhounds 7 Wolves 1

At Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Brett Thompson had a hat trick as the Greyhounds crushed Sudbury.

Carson Dubchak had a pair of goals for Sault Ste. Marie (14-18-5), while Jake Carrick and Daniel Catenacci also scored.

Joshua Leivo was the lone scorer for the Wolves (11-23-2).

Rangers 2 Whalers 1

At Plymouth, Ont., Ryan Murphy's goal midway through the third period snapped a 1-1 tie as Kitchener Rangers held on to beat the Whalers.

Murphy also assisted on Ryan Lopes' power-play goal for the Rangers (22-8-4).

Robbie Czarnik scored for Plymouth (18-16-2).
