{allcanada} Flames sign Michael Ferland to two-year, $3.5-million deal

The Calgary Flames have signed forward Michael Ferland to a two year, $3.5 million contract.

Ferland made waves with the club during its unexpected 2015 playoff run, posting five points and a staggering 50 hits in nine post-season games.

The 25-year-old broke out in 2016-17, finding a coveted role as top-line winger alongside the starring duo of Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan.

The former WHL standout posted a career-best 15 goals and 25 points in 2016-17, coming up big before heading into restricted free-agency. Ferland is one of three key restricted free-agents on Treliving's radar this summer, with young forwards Sam Bennett and Curtis Lazar also still without contracts.
